My future job (hopefully)

The idea is to do this in my 30's or 40's when I have my own conception about what architecture is and how it develop's in the no man's land. For now i'm learning the basics about the human relationship with its habitat. and deepen on human relationship among themselfs when they start to transform the habitat according to what exactly matters to them.

Maybe I should write about being an architect because that's why I'm here anyways. But my dream job has always being an Oceanographer/architect, and I plan on doing it if everything goes ok.

So basically my plan is gather enough money to buy a small cargo ship and go on adventure, while filming everything and producing movies (Jacques Cousteau style). Buying a ship isnt the cheapest thing in the world so ill have to admit its kind of a long shot, but nothing would make me happier.

The idea isn't to study this and work in something completly unrelated though. I want to mix architecture and oceanography in a kind of theory about where and how does one live when you are constantly moving and how does the movement itself changes with the experience.

The plan is to sustain myself
with expositions and film making, but it's obvious that I have to plan this with a lot more care.

I know it sound confusing and unrealistic but I hope its because it's an early idea and that it will become plausible in the future.

Movie recommendation

La Grande Bellezza

What makes a movie good? Is it the plot, the characters or maybe both?

Well for me the best movies are the ones that leave you thinking about something and that immerse you in the contex more than the plot. This movie isn't just the best because of those factors, rather than it focuses in those factors instead of the story or things like that.

So this is an italian movie made by Paolo Sorrentino. The guy makes drama for the most part and this one has it too, but it's not the main thing.
the movie is compossed in a series of events more than a continuous event. With this I mean that these events are connected but the order isnt really important. This events focused in showing what´s true beauty in a world where everyone tries reach but end up spoiling it in every attempt.

The plot (yes it has one and its very good so dont worry) is about the life of Gep Gambardella, an old journalist and philanthropist that every one loves and admires because of his past as a writer. The thing is that he isn't happy with this, in fact his kind of tired of this. The guy is dealing with an identity crisis, lost in the superflous roman atmosphere he starts to realize that everyone and everything is fake, but also that in between the fake there are tiny spark of true beauty and authentecity.

The movie has a fnatastic soundtrack and the scenery is mind blowing (its rome after all) so i thing it goes hand to hand with the "architectual" taste.

I really hope you like it as much as me.

holiday in Rapa Nui

Last february was the first time I traveled alone and it was to Rapa Nui island, the least chilean place in all chile. I was prety exited to say the least but not just because of the destination, I had to work all year to get the money for the travel so I was fullfilled even before i arrived.

I stayed for about a month, so I got to do alot of stuff but for the most part I did what I like the most, go off the road and got lost in the unkown. Rapa Nui was perfect for that, the place is mostly grass fields that go up and down the hills and volcanoes which makes it very fun if you have a mountain bike (I rented one as soon as I landed).

So Im not the most talkative person, but the people around there were very friendly though direct so we got along pretty well. There were a lots of tourist as well so every now and then I traveled around with someone from the place i was staying. I made friends with the host of the housing center, we went fishing almost every day in the morning and traveled to some secret spot that only locals know (wich was the best thing ever by the way).

Aside from that I got a lot of time for myself to think a lot and to know me better, that made this travel really special and I think it marked a new chapter in my path to adulthood.

when I got back home I felt great, not just because I had traveled to paradise (though it is one of the reasons of course), but because i felt that i had acomplished something. That's why this is my favorite holiday trip and i think it we'll be for a long time.

What s so spicy about Bhutan ?

If there is one place left on the earth worth traveling to its ceartenly bhutan (officialy known as Kingdom of Bhutan). Why is that ?

well lets start with the fact that is probably the last place on earth that isnt connected to the main internet global frame, so if you want to know whats currently happening there, youll have to go and see for yourself.

the place is completly landlocked by the himalayas so the only way to get there is by flying in the only airline that the country has at the moment. the reason is because the paro airport (the only international airport in the country) is considered one of the most chalenging places to land in the world (due to its harsh wind and impredictible ice storms) and only a selected group of pilots are trained to perform the task.

the best day to land
Once you set your feet on land (and thank any omnipotent being that you did) youll notice that the plain is one only XXI century tecnologies that youll see during your stay, which is (at least for me) the main reason why I want to travel there.

once there you better take a car or know someone that has one, because this isnt the most tourist friendly place. thre are different languages and appart from the main cities there isnt that meany people that know english.

The country is trapped in a pretty weird time mix between the V century and the 80's youll find people using traditional nepalese clothing listening to michael jackson, smoking cheap cigarretes while preparing the jacks to farm.

So if you like adventure and exploring as much as I,
then you better stay for a while. the country is as diverse  and misterious as it can be. so basically perfect
